The Top New Android Apps of the Week – December 16, 2012

We’re back with another edition of the Top New Android Apps of the week. Whether you’re into Fitness, Photos or Facebook – there’s a little something for everyone this week….

1. Nike Training App

If you’re looking to get in shape the Nike Training Club app can help you out. The app offers up over 114 custom workouts in several different areas and you’ll even get some workouts from celebrities and pros. The app has a nice layout that’s easy to use and while it won’t work out for you, it does work with you and helps get you into better shape. You can check out the Nike Training Club app for free on Google Play.

2. SiteGeist

If you travel a lot or are just curious about the nature of your surroundings you’ll appreciate an app like Sitegeist. The app draws information from the data around you to let you know more about your location anywhere in the United States. You can get info on anything from hot spots to the weather and it’s a free to download on Google Play.

3. Facebook 2.0

This one’s an update, but it’s one a lot of folks have been waiting for as Facebook finally unveiled Facebook 2.0. The revamped android app basically improves everything, and it’s a huge improvement over the boring old app. If you’ve not tried it out yet, there’s not time like the present so hit that update button and check out the new layout.

4. Motiongraph

Want to make some animated pictures? Sony SDNA’s Motiongraph can do just that as it allows you to turn photos into moving pictures with a few simple steps. You can check out our full review of Motiongraph here or pick it up on Google Play for $0.99.

5. Lancer

If you’re a freelancer it can be difficult to keep track of your jobs and your money. An app like Zenfly Software’s Lancer can help to ease that burden as it helps you keep tabs on things like deadlines, wages, tasks, and job. It will also let you create invoices that can be sent out via email or saved in Google Docs. It’s a great app to have on hand if you do a lot of online work, and it’s free to download on Google Play.

6. LINE Tools

Looking for a Swiss Army-like app for your phone? LINE Tools has got you covered as it takes 14 handy tools and packs them into one app. You’ll get things like a ruler, audio level monitor, compass, timer, calculator, and a flashlight. I haven’t tried this one myself, but have used some of Naver’s other products so it should be solid. You can check out LINE Tools for free on Google Play.

7. Next Launcher

Next Launcher is a new launcher from the Go Dev Team makers of the uber popular Go Launcher EX. This one’s 3-D, and to say it looks awesome would be a serious understatement. The app has plenty of cool features as well like stereoscopic screen previews, unlimited layouts, and rotatable docks. As cool as the launcher is, it’s pretty pricey coming in at a whopping $15.99. I haven’t tried this one, but thousands of people have and it’s gotten pretty good reviews so far.

8. Next Honeycomb Live Wallpaper

The Go Launcher Dev Team released a very cool LWP this week with the Next Honeycomb Live Wallpaper for Android. Not a lot to say on this one as the screenshot speaks for itself. It’s a free download, but you’ll have to be running the Next Launcher to run it. If you spend 16 bucks on the launcher we figured you’d definitely want to get some free extras like this cool LWP.
