by On December 30, 2012

As 2012 comes to a close it’s time for our last Top Android Apps of the Week list for the year. There’s a little something for everyone on the list whether you’re into watching movies, reading or just want to have a good laugh we’ve got you covered.

1. Tapatalk HD Beta

If you browse forums from your android device you’ve probably heard of Tapatalk. Tablet owners can do a little happy dance as Quoord Systems Limited released Tapatalk HD for tablets this week. It’s currently in Beta (through January), but ran like a champ on my tab and is well worth picking up if you’re looking for a little Tapatalk on your tab.

2. Sing! Karaoke

If singings your thing Sing! Karaoke is an app that’ll be right in your wheelhouse. The app lets you belt out popular hits and it’s from Smule makers of the Magic Piano and Songify so it’s pretty safe to say it should be a popular app. Sing! Karaoke is free to download on Google Play.

3. Deep Sleep Battery Saver

The nicer our phones get, the more juice they suck. Deep Sleep Battery Saver can help you remedy that by sending your phone into a deep sleep when your screen’s off. The app will turn off battery sucking apps running in the background and you can set it all up to suit your needs. There’s a free version of the app you can try and if you dig it as much as I do you can pick up the full version for only $1.57.

Can you has Cheezburger? Why yes you can… if you pick up the official Cheezburger Android app. The app is great for a laugh on the go, and there are a slew of sites to browse from within the app. You can read a bit more about it here or pick it up for free on Google Play.

5. VUDU Movies and TV

The VUDU Movies and TV app will let you access all the latest movies and television series on your tablet. It’s basically a big online rental service, and they generally have the newest stuff out. I haven’t tried the app, but I have used the service on my Ps3 quite a few times and it always worked well. If you want to give it a go you can pick up the app for free.

6. Press (Google Reader)

Press is a slick new Google Reader app that’s designed to make getting your news easier. We covered this one earlier in the week; you can read more about it here or pick it up on Google Play for $1.99.

7. It’s a Small World

If you’re looking to extend the holiday cheer or just enjoy some old school Disney goodness  you should check out the It’s a Small World Live Wallpaper. The app fills your screen with whimsical scenes and while I haven’t tried it the screenshots look awesome. Just imaging that moving… You can pick up Disney’s It’s a Small World for $0.99.

8. InDrive: Custom Car Home

If you’re looking to make your phone a little more useful on the road you may want to give InDrive: Custom Car Home a look. It has an advanced trip computer that’s full of features, and it can play all your tunes by utilizing Poweramp. You get a 14-day free trial when you download the app, after that you’ll have to buy the unlocker for $1.95.
