The Top New Android Apps of the Week – March 3, 2013

1. Toy Story Andy’s Room

Disney was on a tear this week as they released a game with Toy Story Smash It! and a new LWP called Toy Story: Andy’s Room. This interactive wallpaper lets you kick it in Andy’s room with several of the characters from Toy Story, and you’ll get to play some fun mini-games like bullseye and catch the falling army men. If you dig Toy Story it’s a must-have app and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.


2. Photoshop Touch for Phone

Adobe released Photoshop Touch for Phone last week, and while the name is about as bland as it gets the app itself certainly is not. Photoshop Touch for Phone is basically a toned down version of the tablet app which means you’ll be able to do some slick graphic manipulation on your favorite Android device. It’s a must-have app if you’ve got a large phone like the Note, and it’s free to download on Google Play.


3. ParkMe

If you live in a big city you know that finding a parking spot can be a pain. ParkMe is “the” app you’ve been waiting for as it lets you find the cheapest and closest parking in your city. The app has over 500 cities cataloged in its database we’re glad to see it finally make its way to Android from iOS. ParkMe is free to download on Google Play.


4. Tornado American Red Cross

The US was battered by Tornadoes last year, and while we hope this year is milder the Red Cross has an app to help you out if things go south. Tornado – American Red Cross helps you get your family ready for a twister by giving you simple instructions on what to do, and quizzes to make sure you’re prepared. You can even set areas to monitor for Tornados and you’ll be alerted with an audible Tornado warning when one appears.



5. Mr Porter

If you’re in to high-end fashion chances are you’ve heard of Mr. Porter. The official app was recently released and if you’re looking to drop a wad of cash the app will surely help you out. It gives you access to Mr. Porter’s full catalog of menswear including brands like Alexander McQueen, Burberry, and Brooks Brothers. The apps a breeze to use and it’s free to download on Google Play.


6. Intellicast Weather

Looking for a new way to keep up with the weather? Intellicast Weather can help you out as it gives you live interactive weather including storm cell tracking and map-based weather alerts. You’ll also have access to earthquake tracking, current weather trends, wind speed graphs, and the UV index. Basically it’s going to tell you everything you want to know about the weather, and it’s going to look good doing it. The app is ad-supported, but it’s free to download if you want to check it out.


7. PBA XtraFrame

PBA XtraFrame is the official online bowling channel of the PBA aka the Professional Bowlers Association. The app gives you live streaming video of PGA events along with interviews and product demonstrations. The app is free to download, but you’ll have to have an XtraFrame subscription to make use of it. Definitely not for everyone, but it looks like a great app to have if you’re a bowler.


8. Amazon BuyVIP

Amazon released a new shopping app this past week with the Amazon BuyVIP app for Android. The app offers up info on limited-time events featuring top brands from clothing, shoes, jewelry, and home furnishings. The discount club and app is only available in certain parts of the world, but there are some great deals to be had if you have access to the service.
