Top 10 New Android Apps of the Week – August 26, 2012

by On

There were a lot of great Android App updates this week as several major app’s saw makeover’s and important updates. As for the new stuff… well it was a bit slow. This week’s Top 10 has some good ones although we decided to abbreviate it a bit instead of just throwing in filler. Without further ado we proudly present our Top 10 8 New Android Apps of the Week…

1. Regularly

There are a lot of things we do on a daily basis, but you don’t always have time to do them at a certain time of the day. That’s where an app like Regularly from UgglyNoodle can come in handy as it allows you to keep track of your daily To-Do’s and schedule them for the best time of day. The app is very simple to use, and it’s free to download.

2. Muzy

Another week, another photo sharing app but his week brings us a nice on in the form of Muzy. Muzy allows you to easily edit photos, create collages, and share your photos through several different ways with anyone you choose. If you take a lot of pics you’ll definitely want to give this one a look, and you can get it for free on Google Play.

3. Mapsaurus Beta

There are a lot of “App discovery” Apps out there, but Mapsaurus is one of the cooler ones we’ve seen lately. Instead of letting you browse tired old lists you’ll actually get a massive map that shows connections between the apps which helps you discover new ones. We’ve got a nice review of this on coming up in a few days so be sure to check back. Until then you can check out Mapsaurus Beta for yourself on Google Play for free.

4. Riddle Pic

Riddle Pic is a new way to share photos, but with a twist. That twist comes in the form of a riddle/question that you can add to each pic. We’ve seen several similar games come out lately, and this one looks to do it a little different by making things a guessing game of sorts. We’ll have more on this one later in the week, but if you want to give it a run now you can grab it for free on Google Play.

5. Fantasy Football Guru Free

If you play Fantasy Football you know that you need to be in the “know” and kept up to date daily. My Fantasy Football Guru is a great way to do just that as it will alert you of any important Fantasy Football news throughout the day… everyday. You do have to have a membership to use the service, but if you’re a hardcore FF player you probably already have on. You can checkout My Fantasy Football Guru Free on Google Play.

6. Impressionist Fingerpaint

This one’s a few weeks old, and slipped under our radar so here ya’ go. Impressionist Fingerpaint is a great little Android app that lets you turn any photo on your device into a true work of art. You can use different brushes and mediums to recreate you photo to make it look like it was done up in pastels, paint or pencils. There are quite a few options to toy with, and I really like the sensitivity of the brushes as it allows you to make some pretty cool brushstrokes once you get the hang of things.

7. Regions Bank

The Regions Bank Mobile App got a facelift, and now you can track your banking online with style by using their smart new Android app. Not much to say on this one as I don’t bank at Regions, but if you do (and a lot of people do) you’ll probably want to pick this one up.

8. Chair

Have every sat down and daydreamed about how a certain chair would look in your room? Me neither, but if you have Chair is just the app for you. Actually it’s a cool little app that lets you use Augmented Reality to visualize what a room would look like with a new chair. You can move said chair around, and even take photos of it to share with your family and friends. If you love Chair as much as Brick loves Lamp you can checkout Chair on Google Play for free.
