If you play a lot of Android games, there is a good chance you’ve played a game from Gameloft. The company has been putting out quality games for awhile now, and their Android selection is no different. Their means of game distribution is a little funky as most of their offerings are only available from their site, with none in the Android market. There have also been a lot of claims of “copying” other games. Yes, some games are pretty similar, but who wouldn’t want to play a version of Grand Theft Auto on your phone? No matter what you think of them, you can’t deny that they’ve made some truly awesome games. Here is a list of the Top 5 Gameloft Android games…
Spiderman, Spiderman, Does whatever a spider can. Spins a web, any size… Catches thieves just like flies… If you’re a fan of ol’ Spidey, you are going really dig this game. In Ultimate Spider-Man Total Mayhem, you’ll swing through 12 unique levels while battling all sorts of baddies. You will also have to face six of Spider-Man’s deadliest arch-enemies including Sandman, Electro, Venom, Rhino Green Goblin, and Dr. Octopus. Best of all, you can unlock the Venom suit and replay the game with a different set of abilities. It’s a easy to play, has great graphics, and is a whole lotta fun!
Dungeon Hunter 2 is a great sequel to the popular Dungeon Hunter RPG game. You can choose from 3 classes of adventurers, each with 2 specializations and lots of skills. You’ll be able to play campaign mode solo, or group with up to 3 other people if you don’t want to fight alone. It’s got some killer graphics to go along with that classic “hack & slash” gameplay. If you like RPG’s, you’re probably going to enjoy Dungeon Hunter 2.
Here’s a new entry to Gamelofts ever expanding repertoire of games. Think Starcraft on your phone, and you’ll have a great idea of what Starfront: Collision is all about. It’s a great looking RTS game with a whole lot to do. There are 3 factions, and around 17 levels total in campaign mode. If that’s not enough, they also have a killer online multi-player mode with 7 different maps to choose from. Put it all together, and you’ve got a great game with hours of quality gameplay. As with any Gameloft title, the graphics and sound effects are outstanding. If you’d like to play the best looking RTS on Android, go grab Starfront: Collision.
Gangstar Miami Vindication is a great looking game that’s very similar to GTA. It’s also a big game, with over 75 missions, and lots of different locations for you to wreak havoc in. You’ll get to drive a variety of cars, motorcycles, boats, jet skis, and helicopters. It also has a storyline about revenge that was apparently co-written with a scriptwriter from “The Wire.” I actually just found that out, which just adds another layer of cool to the game for me. You can grab Gangstar Miami Vindication HD over at Gamelofts Android store.
Normally, I wouldn’t include a game I haven’t played in any review, but I made an exception for Backstab. It’s a new game from Gameloft that looks awesome, and has an old world feel to it. You take on the role of Henry Blake, a man who has been wronged, and now he’s out for revenge. You’ll be able to freely roam vast 3D environments while taking your vengeance out on those who stand in your way. There are four different cities to explore, and many characters to interact with along the way. Unfortunately, Xperia Play has an exclusive 30 day license on this title. After it expires, everyone else will be able to play this slick looking game.
Honorable Mentions go to Asphalt 6, Oregon Trail, and the new Fast Five game…
