This week’s edition of the Top New Android Apps brings quite a bit to the table. There are apps that help you stay productive, apps that keep you up to date, apps that save your battery, and a talking tom cat. Without further ado, we proudly present our Top 10 New Android Apps of the Week…

1. beZee

If you stay busy or get a lot of phone calls an app like beeZee can be very handy to have. beeZee lets whoever’s calling you know when you’re busy by responding to calls you don’t have the time to answer with a personalized SMS. It’s simple to use with quite a few options to choose from and it’s free to download on Google Play.

2. Paperland Live Wallpaper

If you’ve often dreamed of living in a world filled with paper we’ve got just the thing for you with Joko Interactive’s Paperland Live Wallpaper. This funky LWP gives a you a scrolling background made out of paper cut-outs; you can set the time of day yourself or let it update itself in real time. The free version has several different scenes and settings while the paid version gives you even more for only $0.99.

3. GitHub

GitHub lets you manage, create, and discuss issues while staying up to date by integrating news feeds for all your organizations, friends, and repositories. I haven’t had a chance to check this one out, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it from some friends that have used it regularly since its release. If you’d like to give it a go you can pick up GitHub for free on Google Play.

4. MiniVAN

MiniVAN is a mobile canvassing app that works with websites provided by NGP VAN. The app allows you to export canvassing lists from VAN onto an Android device so you can talk to people on your list, and upload their data back to the VAN. It eliminates the lag between collecting canvass results and it’s free to download on Google Play.

5. Sentry

If you’re tired of having your WiFi kill your battery on a daily basis Sentry is just the thing for you. Sentry is an automated WiFi manager that cycles your WiFi to turn itself on or off which in turn saves your battery. There are several different configurations, it works like a charm, and best of all it’s free.

6. Futurama Head-in-a-Jar Creator

MTV Networks released a nice app for Futurama fans last week with the Futurama Head-in-a-Jar app. The app lets you create your own customizable head in a jar, and it’s quite a bit of fun when it works. This one had some issues early on with phone optimization, but it appears the developers are working on a fix to get things straightened out. Keep an eye on this one because when it’s fixed it’s going to be a lot of fun.

7. Tom Loves Angela

The folks at Oufit7 really love their cats… The group has just released another talking cat app with Tom Loves Angela for Android. This time around Tom is in love and he’ll try to woo Angela by singing, chatting, and giving her gifts. You’re supposed to be able to have an intelligent conversation with Angels which would be a first as we all know cats basically don’t listen or respond to anything we try. You can pick up Outfit7’s Tom Loves Angela for free on Google Play.

8. Mixcloud

If you’re into streaming radio there’s a new Android app out called Mixcloud you may want to look into. Mixcloud lets you stream your favorite DJ Mix sets, Podcasts, and radio shows straight to your Android device and it has an easy to use interface that makes things simple. You can pick up Mixcloud for free on Google Play.

9. NFC Writer

The NFC Writer App allows you to efficiently program multiple NFC tags while you’re on the go. You can program web addresses, foursquare venues, and address book contacts; more types will be added depending on users feedback. It works with any device that’ NFC enabled, and you can download it for free on Google Play.

10. USpyCam

USpyCam is a new Android app that lets you take pictures on the sly. It lets you capture without previews and screen displays, but also has a mute way that works on all devices. It records, timestamps, and basically does everything you’d want a little spycam to do. You can check out USpyCam for free on Google Play.
