Now that CES is over and we’re starting to see more new releases so we’re back with our picks for the Top New Android Games of the Week. Whether you like capturing monsters, building cities or going to war with dogs, there’s a little something for everyone this week.

1. Solar Forge

Solar Forge is a cool new Indie from the minds at MostWanted Game Development. It’s basically a simulation game that lets you build your own Solar System in a sandbox environment complete with gravity and the sun (or suns) of your choice. You can form your own planets, tinker with gravity wells, and even take on a little combat or mining. Pretty impressive considering it’s still a work in progress. You can read a little more about the game here or check it out for yourself for $1.99 on Google Play.

2. Little Commander

Cat Studio HK dropped a new Tower Defense game last week with Little Commander WWII. This World War II themed game puts your strategic skills to the test as you’ll take on enemies across 15 different battlefields. The game is also easy on the eyes as you can see from the screenshot below. It’s fun, it’s free, and you can download it on Google Play.

3. Cat War 2

Westriver is well known for their fun little games and they just released another one with Cat War 2. It’s just as fun as the original Cat War and twice as wacky which is saying something. Needless to say if you enjoyed the first one you’ll dig this one and you can pick it up for free.

4. Gravity Sheep

Gravity Sheep is a new 2D puzzler that involves sheep and mushrooms. You’ll have to draw lines to guide Mr. Sheep to the delicious mushrooms and you’re going to have a lot of fun doing it across 45 fun filled levels. You can check out the free version of Overflow Studios Gravity Sheep or pick up the full version for $1.97.

5. Lego City Fire Hose Frenzy

Lego City Fire Hose Frenzy is new Android game from the Lego Group that puts you in charge of firemen out to stop the blazes around their blocky little city. You’ll have to push crates with water, hit switches and get past all sorts of obstacles if you want to make it through the games 20 levels. It’s a nice one for the kids and it’s free to download on Google Play.

6. Kings Bounty: Legions

Like your strategy games with a medieval twist? If so Nival’s King’s Bounty: Legions is just the thing for you. You’ll have to gear up your army of mythical creatures as you take on quests and battle in PvP or PVE mode. It’s a great looking strategy game and it’s free to download on Google Play.

7. Monster Mania

Monster Mania is a RPG game that aims to put your monster taming skills to the test as you battle and “try” to tame over 100 different beasts. The game has a unique battle system and trading setup that keeps things entertaining and a massive storyline that spans 8 different regions. It’s one of the better Monster Catching games we’ve played lately and you can check it out for free.

8. City Island

If you’re into city building games a nice one was recently released in City Island from Sparkling Society. The game puts you to work building a city on an Island and you’ll have a slew of buildings to choose from to make your Island unique. It’s a sharp looking game, there’s plenty to build and it’s free to download on Google Play.
