Samsung’s Unpacked Event is set to take place on October 11th, and it is this event where the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be revealed. Coming from a “trusted source,” BGR has a full list of specs and features expected to be found within the Galaxy Nexus when it is launched next Tuesday. In terms of thinness, it measures out at 9mm and features a large 4.65 inch touch screen display. Perhaps more impressive than its thinness and screen size is the fact that it is a Super AMOLED HD display producing a resolution of 1280 x 720. In addition, it runs 1GB of RAM, Android 4.0, dual-core TI OMAP 4460 1.2GHz dual-core procesor, 32GB of onboard memory, 5MP rear facing camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, and 1080p video capture. Lastly, it will feature NFC, LTE, and HSPA. The attractiveness of the Galaxy Nexus stems from the fact that it is a Pure Android experience smartphone, meaning there aren’t any carrier specific apps, nor manufacturer UI skin (such as TouchWiz). It is largely believed that Verizon Wireless will have an exclusive on the Galaxy Nexus, making up for the fact the carrier passed on the Galaxy S II.
