ViewSonic Touts a 4-inch Android Tablet, Also a Phone

by On January 6, 2011

Just how small should a device be before we stop calling them an Android tablet? Well for ViewSonic, it doesn’t matter what the size of their tablet is for as long as it has most of the usual features of a regular tablet, they will still call their 4-inch ViewPad 4 and Android tablet. ViewSonic just announced the ViewPad 4, a new Android tablet featuring a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touch-screen. Yes, it’s almost the same size as your regular phone. Well, actually the ViewPad also has a phone feature. ViewPad 4 features a Qualcomm MSM 8255 1GHz platform, HD 720p video recording, playback, upload and HDMI 720p display output. It also comes with a 5MP rear-facing camera and 0.3MP back-facing camera, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, G-sensor, E-compass, ambient light, and ¬†proximity sensors. This Android tablet adds up to two other ViewSonic ViewPads which were also launched at CES 2011 – the ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10. Availability for ViewPad 4 is middle of this year. Prices will depend on the carrier which will offer the Android tablet with their mobile data offerings. via Market Wire
