I’m currently training for a 5K Marathon next week so I was glad to have found this Android app called Proton which is currently available as a lite and paid ($1.99) versions from the Android Market. Proton is a speedometer app that uses your Android phone’s GPS to connect to satellites circling worldwide and provide you with speeds in various measurements, including mph to knots.
While there may be other speedometer apps for Android, Proton is different from the rest of these apps by providing you with a simple, straightf forwad interface that delivers what you need when it comes to measuring your speed. The app’s interface is simple to understand and employs bright, visible and precise numbers. These features come in handy especially when you are actually running, biking, driving your car or on a speed boat.
Proton’s free version is useful enough to help you measure your speed. But it becomes even more useful especially if your training for a marathon if you get the paid version. It gives you additional functionality including – speed history graph, speed history export and distance travelled.
So, if you’re in need of a good if not great Android speedometer app, check out Proton. It could be the last speedometer you’d ever use.
