Quick Review – 100 Floors by Tobi Apps
100 Floors is a new Android game from the folks at Tobi Apps, and it’s one of the most frustrating games I’ve played in quite some time. As the name implies, the game involves a building with 100 floors and you’ll have to get though them all to clear the game.
The premise behind 100 Floors is a simple one; there are 100 levels and each has a door that will take you to the next floor. You simply need to unlock each door to advance, but it’s much harder than you’d think. There are really no instructions per say, you basically just get a screen with an elevator door and have to figure out how to open it. You can move objects, collect items for use, and all your actions are generally gesture based like pinch/zooming or swiping. That being said I’m stuck on floor 10 so there’s no telling what’s coming up in the next 90 levels. Needless to say it’s a tough game, and not for those who are easily frustrated.
As bad as I hate to admit it, I’ve played the game for over an hour and have only gotten to the 10th floor. If you read the market comments, I’m not the only one having issues either and the devs even had to put solutions on the first 4 floors into the description to get people started. Tough doesn’t necessarily mean fun, but that’s not the case for 100 floors as each time you clear a level you actually feel like you’ve accomplished something. If you dig puzzlers and don’t mind throwing your phone across the room once or twice you should definitely check this one out.
