Redbox Android App Review

If you haven’t noticed video stores seem to be going the way of the dinosaur. As the video stores fade away, more people are turning to kiosks like Redbox. As great as the kiosks are, there has always been one drawback which is driving down there only to find that they don’t have your movie.  Well, Redbox has an app that will take care of those problems for you.

This app can be a real time saver, the layout is easy on the eyes and a breeze to navigate.  After you log in the first thing you want to do is select your location to find the closest Redbox locations. From there you can browse through the different kiosks and see what they have before you go.

Some of you may wonder, “What if the movie I found at the kiosk is gone before I get there?” Not a problem, the greatest feature of this app is its ability to let you reserve your movie from the comfort of your home. Just find the movie you want and click reserve, it’s that easy. I have used this feature countless times to get a popular movie before it was gone.

The search feature works great by letting you find a particular movie or search by genre.  The main pages for each movie show the plot, actors, rating, and runtime. Out of the 30 or so movies I’ve reserved using the app, only two times have I gotten an error. I’m not sure if someone was checking it out when I reserved it or it was a fluke.

Overall, it’s a great app that does what it’s supposed to do with a high success rate. If you use Redbox you can head over to the market and pick it up for free.
