Set Sail with Age Of Wind 2 for Android

 In Uncategorized

I’ve always been a sucker for pirate games, so when I stumbled across Age of Wind 2 in the market I got excited. The game puts you in charge of a ship where you’ll get to fight pirates, trade goods, and do a lot of sailing. This game reminds me of Sid Meier’s, but still has its own style. The graphics are great & the music is really set the tone for me. Will this game sink or be as awesome as it looks? Here’s what we thought…

Gameplay & Features

You basically sail around from port to port, trading goods, killing pirates and doing missions. The controls can be a little bit tricky at first, as you turn your boat by tilting your phone side to side. Once you get the hang of it, sailing will be a breeze. The battles are easy & fun as well, you just tap on the screen to fire at the other ships. The game can be tough, especially when you’re first starting out and have a small, slow ship. The islands are a bit far apart, so I would advise upgrading your speed as soon as possible. That being said, there are plenty of ships to battle as you sail the seas. You can fight pirates or traders, and will collect loot from both once they’ve been defeated.

There are a lot of different missions as well, you’ll gain gold from and experience from those which you’ll definitely need as the game progresses. There’s quite a bit for you to do in Age of Wind 2, and you’re gonna have fun doing it. There are 17 different ships you can purchase & upgrade, along with 21 different islands for you to check out. You can repair your ship after battle at the closest port, and I would recommend you do that after every battle starting out. You can also buy other ships, or upgrade your own at the ports. The cannons, armor, and sails of your ships are all upgradable to a certain level.

It’s a great looking game that’s a lot of fun…especially for a first release. You can change the level of difficulty, I played on easy, but still got beat quite a few times starting out. I’m anxious to see what the developers bring in future updates; I think this game will be pretty popular. If you like pirate games, you should definitely give this one a look. There are free and paid versions of Age of Sail 2 available in the Android market.
