Sony’s Photo Editor is a new Android app that lets you alter your photographs with a bevy of filters, frames and decorations. This full featured photo editor is simple to use and has most of the functions you’ll need to alter any photo in your collection.
When you first fire up the app you’re prompted to choose between taking a picture or using one that’s already one your phone. Once you pick the photo you’re ready to start editing and there are quite a few options to choose from in that department. The Decorations tab is broken down into 4 tabs with Stickers, Emotion, Add Text, and Word Balloons. Out of those categories you’ll get 120 stickers, 15 emotions, 13 fonts, and right around 70 word balloons for a whopping total of 218 decorations. The Effects tab is where you’ll find your filters and there are some very cool ones available. There are around 40 effects in all and Rock, Mosaic, Cartoon, and Watercolor were a few of my favorites. Rounding out the features are the frames & edit tabs which include 40+ frames and the ability to crop, rotate, and re-size your masterpieces.
Sony’s Photo Editor is definitely one of the better photo manipulation apps for Android, and it should have more than enough options for most people. The effects/filters were my favorite part of the app, and while there are a lot to choose from it would be nice to be able to adjust them a bit more. The interface itself is a breeze to use, and overall it’s a very solid photo editing app. You can grab Sony’s Photo Editor in the Android market for $2.49.
