A couple of days ago Google updated their Wallet app to include support for Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards, where as previously only pre-paid debit cards and Citibank Mastercard were supported.
Google have released an update to their Google Wallet app which will enable more people to be able to use it. Previously, once the free $10 credit had run out, you could only use a Citi Mastercard or prepaid debit card with the application. With the latest Google Wallet update support for Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express debit and credit cards has been added. Robin Dua, Google Wallet product manager, explained that Google had changed their technical approach for storing cards which has allowed them to support all debit and credit cards.
