Everyone knows how popular the Angry Birds franchise is, and if you don’t you will soon. Sony is bringing an Angry Birds Movie into theaters on July 1, 2016. Sony won the rights to put the birds on the silver screen, and as you’d expect, it’s going to be in 3-D.
Rovio is certainly no stranger to the world of gaming considering they came up with that whole Angry Birds thing. Now it looks like they are getting in to the publishing business with the Rovio Stars Initiative, and they already have two games lined up.
A few weeks back we talked about Rovio & Dreamworks team up for The Croods game and a few days ago it finally arrived. It’s Rovio’s second venture outside the world of Angry Birds, and this time around they’ve chosen to go the full-on freemium route.
Rovio’s games generally follow a certain physics-based formula, but it looks like that’s about to change. The Croods is an upcoming movie from Dreamworks, and Rovio has just revealed they’ll be doing a tie-in game for the flick sans Angry Birds.

After several teasers from Rovio and eventually a viewing of a preview trailer, Rovio have now released their latest mobile game Bad Piggies. While the game focuses around the green piggies that feature in the popular Angry Birds series by Rovio, Bad Piggies is being dubbed as a sibling game rather than a spin off to the Angry Bird games.
Rovio recently announced that they would be updating two of the games in their Angry Bird series which have proved to be popular iOS and Android games. We were teased with a new character for Angry Birds Seasons. We also learned that Rovio would also be releasing an update to their most recent Angry Birds game release, Angry Birds Space to include a trip to the red planet.
Just a couple of days ago Angry Birds creator Rovio teased Angry fans over the world with an image indicating that a mysterious new character would be entering the world of the Angry Birds franchise. The image showed a pair of cute but slightly angry eyes with luscious long lashes and the accompanying words “who turned out the lights” which led many to speculate that the lashes were definitely that of a female character. However, it wasn’t known at that time if the eyes in question belonged to an Angry Bird or one of the mischievous pigs in the series.
The company behind the very popular and successful Angry Birds series have been very busy of late. As well as releasing their first non Angry Birds game ‘Amazing Alex’, Rovio also showed off an update to their most recent Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Space. We know that sometime in the Fall, Rovio will send the Angry Birds off to the Red Planet.
As NASA take a step into the unknown by landing on Mars with it’s Curiosity rover space vehicle, Rovio have also jumped onto the space wagon by announcing that their ever popular Angry Birds are also on the way to Mars in the near future.
