Quick Review – GoComics for Android

GoComics-AndroidThe newspapers may be slowly going the way of the Dinosaur, but Comic Strips will always be around in one form or another. GoComics is an Android app that can help you revisit some go.comics-1old friends from the funny pages, and it has a huge selection of comics to choose from so there’s a little something for everyone.

GoComics gives you access to over 20 years of comic strips in a handy to use Android app. You can browse through popular titles alphabetically or by popularity, and there are around 65 different comic strips to peruse.   If you prefer to start your day with a bit of political humor there are plenty of Editorial cartoons as well, and they are even broken down into the left, right, and middle categories which is pretty comical in itself.

In addition to the Popular and Editorial sections, there’s a “Sherpa” section that shows new work from up-and-comers in the comic strip world. GoComics alsogo.comics-2 allows you to set up a collection the strips you like the best, and you’ll be able to “star” your favorites. Navigation is a breeze as well; everything is scrollable, the comics are easy to browse, and the app is very simple to use. You will have to have an account to get access to all the apps features, but setting up an account is free and can be done from within the app.

I always got a kick out of reading the Sunday funnies growing up, and while we unfortunately don’t subscribe to the paper anymore (thanks to irritating salesmen) it’s nice to catch up on some old favorites. GoComics makes that task simple, and there are a lot of famous strips included like Fox Trot, The Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, and Dilbert. If you’re looking for a great comic strip app GoComics is the way to go, and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.
